On the hillside of the geographical center of Bali is a little restaurant called Alam Koe. A restaurant that specializes itself in Italian cuisine, or to be more specific, for its charcoal oven pizzas. Yes, you heard me, Bali’s countryside isn’t as ‘kampung’ as you think they are, they make a mean pizza as compared to its Seminyak counterparts. Trust me, the pizza there is worth the travel. Maybe not as good as in Italy, but it can be a cheaper and more convenient alternative for locals who could take a little road trip to the mountains for some pizza and feel like they are in a Balinese Rome.

Bring a book, bring your macbook, bring your pillow for the car ride there and come with an empty stomach. Alam Koe provides a place of complete peace and the only thing you could hear is the forest and annoying chirping birds. The view is also spectacular, especially when its a cloudy day such as this when the light will escape from the thick clouds, gleaming sunlight among the scenery. I recommend you to visit it ASAP! Especially if you are visiting the mountains or is on the way to Singaraja.

Look at that view. A sea of green and blue.

Here are some snapshots of the food. I didn’t trust my brother about their awesome pizza, so I bought some Indonesian delicacies, which was also nice, but the pizza was way better.

My mom wanted to get the full on Balinese Italian experience so she shared a pizza and some spaghetti Bolognese.

Nothing is better than sitting with a cup of coffee on the gazebo staring a the landscape. Makes you feel like a hippy, being around nature and all.

    • Hi Nyoman. First of all, I want to say nice to meet you. Secondly, I want to say that saya bisa bahasa Indonesia. Tapi kalau mau pakai bahasa inggris, I am fine with that. Well I am currently a student and I made this blog so I could exploit the hidden beauties that Bali has to offer to the world. I review restaurants, hotels and destinations that I have been to.

As for the site, this website is supported by wordpress and it is self hosted. Let me know if I can help you out with anything. :)
