Wednesday Brunch at the Tuckshop, Northbridge
The Tuckshop has been the ‘talk of the town’ for a while now and it was time for me to try it for myself. Friends had invited me to eat there for brunch on a Wednesday because apparently, the place is always crowded, but not as much on Wednesdays. The cafe seemed small, but the inside was spacious and the atmosphere was welcoming. The food smelt great and gets your tummy rumbling from the moment you step into that place. Luckily, we got a table straight away and did not have to suffer through the torture of waiting while watching other people eat.
The service was amazing and the menu was straightfoward and that’s coming from a person that is so used to just ordering things like ‘Bolognese’ or ‘Roast Duck’ from a menu. Ordering food by its ingredients rather than the name of the dish is a first for me.
I ended up ordering a mocha ($4) and a Morrocan meatballs with flatbread, tomato, hummus and za’atar fried egg ($17.50). It was semi-expensive for a budgeted student, but worthed. The food didn’t take too long to come and everything was fresh (or at least seemed as such). Tuckshop, you just earned yourself a regular customer.
